What We Believe
In the essentials - Unity | In the non-essentials - Liberty | In all things - Love
There is only one God. He is the all-powerful and all-knowing Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
Genesis 1:1,26,27; I Kings 8:60; Psalms 90:2; Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 8:6
About Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal and one with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and was crucified on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for the sin of all that would believe on His name. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal and one with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He transforms and lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, guidance in doing what is right and being a witness for Jesus. He gives every believer spiritual gifts which are to be used in ministry as He wills. There is a “filling” of the Holy Spirit that takes place after salvation. As Christians we seek to continually be filled with the Holy Spirit and to live under His control daily in order to bear the fruit of the Spirit.

About the Bible
The Bible is God’s word to us. It is written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.

About Human Beings
People are made in the spiritual image of God. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, He is marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” Sin eternally separates people from God and can be overcome only by a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Isaiah 59:1,2; Romans 3:10-18,23
Salvation is God’s free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ and must be received by faith. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Jesus Christ lived, died, rose again and ascended into Heaven in order to secure salvation. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty of eternity in Hell. This trust is realized by confessing with the mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, believing with the heart that God raised Him from the dead, and putting one’s life under the Lordship of Christ.
John 1:12; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 5:1; Romans 10:9,10; Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5
People were created to exist forever. After death, one will either exist united with God in Heaven or exist eternally separated from God in Hell. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. The gift of eternal life with God in Heaven is offered to every individual who places faith in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection.
Matthew 18:8; Matthew 25:44,46; John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15
Worship is communion with God in which believers, by grace, center their mind’s attention and their heart’s affection on the Lord, humbly glorifying God in response to His greatness and His Word. Worship can happen corporately when believers gather together but should also happen individually as we walk out our lives daily in Christ.
Psalm 63:3,4; Psalm 100; Psalm 126:2,3; Psalm 150; Ephesians 1:12
Biblical ministry is relational by nature and is the action of God carried out primarily through His people. The three basic priorities in ministry correspond with the Christians’ relationships with God, His people, and the world. Our first priority is to minister to God through worship. Our second priority is to minister to God’s people through nurture. Our third priority is to minister to the world through mission. Each member has the responsibility to discover and use their spiritual gifts in the body of Christ.

River Valley Christian Church
In His Service
River Valley Christian Church-In His Service (RVCC-IHS) is a church plant from River Valley Christian Church of Lake Elmo, Minnesota. The first service was held on a Saturday evening in February of 2010 by Pastor Karl Binger and his wife Kathy in their remodel pole barn. In June of 2010, Pastor Tom Bakke and his wife Cindy planted an independent church in Cambridge, Minnesota on a Sunday night in their remodel garage called “Justpassinthru- In His Service” ministries. These two churches were a good training ground for these two new pastors. The first Sunday of March 2011, they united with service being held at the Grandy Community Center on Sunday mornings. As they grew, they realized a need to find a bigger place. The summer of 2012, they bought the old Gun shop and implement repair shop north of Grandy on Highway 65. The property came with 10+ acres, 3 out buildings, a house, along with a 5425-sq. ft. pole building. The front area has been remodel to include a worship center, youth room, nursery, and a full-size kitchen. On March 10th 2013, RVCC-IHS in Grandy, Minnesota had its first worship service at its new home. We are in the process of raising the funds to finish the new worship center in the 3025-sq. ft. area of the church. In the fall of 2014, Pastor Karl and Kathy headed for Texas along with their 4 children, Isaiah, Galatia, Selah and Eliah. They continue to support RVCC-IHS as they pursue what the Father has for them in Fort Worth, Texas. Pastor Tom remains as Pastor of RVCC-IHS in Grandy, Minnesota. As a church plant from RVCC in Lake Elmo, we hold to the two prophecies that were spoken over the St Croix valley almost 65 years ago.
Prophecy for the St. Croix Valley
In 1948 two prophetic words were given by two different individuals who did not know or had even heard of each other. The first was given in Spooner, WI. by a missionary from an independent missions group and six months later the second was given in Luck, WI. by an Assemblies of God missionary. One couple who had heard both prophecies said that they were almost word for word as they were given. The prophecies basically stated that just before Jesus comes a revival would start at the head of the St. Croix River and continue southward down the entire river. They stated that the effect of this revival would reach out 100 miles on each side of the river and continue until Jesus comes. They also stated in its path several of the cities would be won entirely over to the Lord (every person in that city saved). Along with the salvation of thousands would also be the miraculous in the areas of finances, healing, and deliverances of all kinds and a return of entire areas to a Biblical living, once again, right up to Jesus’ coming in the rapture
The family at RVCC-IHS in Grandy seek, as God’s Family, to be a family to those who need or desire to be a part of what God’s family is and will be doing.
Our Mission is The Great Commission found in Mark 16:15-20 (NKJV)
15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." 19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.
- Real Family-Loving Jesus-Loving Each Other-Loving The World.
Real Family as in being a part of God’s Family as we become His children when we make Jesus Lord and Savior (John 1:12). Loving Jesus by keeping His commandments (John 14:15,23 and John 15:9-10). Loving one another as He commanded us (John 13:34-35). Loving the world into the Kingdom of God. Loving God, loving ourselves, and loving our neighbors (Matthew 22:37-40).
We use the word Agape, most of the time to separate the word love from the world’s definition of love. Agape is defined in 1st Corinthians 13:4-8.
If you are looking for a place you can call home, a place where Agape is foundational to all that we do, where we strive to be a family as God would have us, where preaching the Kingdom of God is at hand, where there is healing of the sick and casting out demons, then come and check us out, grow as His child and become a part of His family at River Valley Christian Church-In His Service.
